Ian Bennett

Ian was born and raised on the outer banks of Middle Tennessee. Situated along the Tennessee River between Nashville and Memphis. This geographical situation exposed him to a unique mix of Rhythm and Blues, Southern Rock, and Country music. Raised by a single mother with a love for singing, Ian was surrounded and molded by the sights and sounds of live music. By age 13, Ian began his beginnings as a musician all his own. Playing guitar in several churches, local bands, and studying as much as he could. It wasn't until his grandmother handed him a B.B. King casette, that he knew what he would do with his life. In the days following, he would listen feverishly and devotedly to that tape. He learned all he could,  figuring it out by playing, rewinding, then playing again. The soulful cries of "The Thrill Is Gone" coupled with the funky "To Know You Is To Love You" possessed Ian and sent him down the rabbit hole of all the great blues men that came before him. 

Today, you can find him on Broadway in Nashville, Tn, playing all the requests that the usual crowd expects. But, when the request line is over or the request comes in to "play whatever you like", you can guarantee that you'll hear the sound of a life fueled by the blues. Pulling the crowd in with pure passion, ferocious guitar work, and powerful gritty vocals that only come from a life well-lived. 

His first full length studio album, "Sinner" chronicles that life. A life of things that come and go. Love, loss, poverty, riches, and all that comes his way. One thing is for certain. The Blues is here to stay.
